Creating a buzz with BuzzIn

Today I was doing a review class with my TESL students, so I decided to use JeopardyLabs to spice things up a bit. I’ve used it many times in the past, but I really wanted to make it more like the show, so I decided to test out BuzzIn with them.

BuzzIn is a mobile site that creates a quick online buzzer which can be used alongside games like Jeopardy. It is free and doesn’t require any registration to use. It is one of the simplest sites to use. Here is how it works.

Go to BuzzIn.Live and click on Host.

BuzzIn will automatically create a code that you can share with your class. Don’t close this window. You will need to leave it open to keep the code active.

Invite students to go to BuzzIn.live and to click on Join.

They will need to enter the code and their name before clicking on Join!

You will then see a list of students who have entered the game at the bottom of the page. You can also click on a name to kick them out if necessary.

For each student, they will see a big, green button. When they want to answer, they click on the button and it will show up on your list in order of when it was pushed.

Once that question is done, click on Reset ALL Buzzers and ask the next question.
