About

I8WsVIYf_400x400-2

I like to think of myself as a progressive, rather creative, and energetic teacher who likes to build personal relationships with my students. I have an MA TESOL from Trinity Western University along with a TESL Canada Professional Certificate Standard Three certification. I have also studied another language, which I feel gives me insight into the learning process and the struggles that this entails.

I believe that my 18 years of business sales and training experience makes me uniquely qualified to teach business skills and language in the ESL classroom. I believe in natural, relevant material for the students that can be applied in their current situations. I encourage creativity and thinking in the classroom, while still supplying a relevant grammar foundation on which to build.

I am a faculty member for Douglas College in New Westminster, BC, teaching in the English for Academic Purposes and TESL certificate programs. I am continually striving to expand my training and experience, and with my broad skill base and ability to learn, I feel I am flexible and highly adaptable.
